Our Mission
Legal Aid of Marin’s mission is to create an equitable Marin by empowering the community through legal representation, advocacy, and education. We envision an inclusive Marin with equal justice and opportunity for all. We advance our mission by providing no-cost, client-centered civil legal services and resources to marginalized Marin County residents, while advocating for systemic policy changes aimed at eliminating poverty and oppression. We believe that access to legal services for all makes possible an equitable Marin where everyone can live, work, gather, and thrive.
Our Impact
Each year, Legal Aid of Marin (LAM) provides thousands of Marin residents with direct civil legal services, education, and resources. Our priorities include:
Recovering wages for immigrant workers

Restoring driver’s licenses and alleviating poverty through the Marin Community Court program
Growing access to pro bono legal services in partnership with the private bar
Connecting residents to community-based organizations that provide social services
Our staff works collaboratively with community partners across Marin, practicing client-centered and trauma-informed lawyering to expand access to the civil justice system.
