Associate, Howard Rice
Ms. Agnolucci has successfully litigated a number of pro bono cases on behalf of immigrants, and has focused her pro bono
practice on helping women fleeing gender-based persecution. Along with the Center for Gender and Refugee Studies, Ms.
Agnolucci has set precedent on behalf of refugees fleeing severe domestic violence and has made headlines in a number of
leading publications, including the New York Times.
Lisa Frydman
Managing Attorney, Center for Gender and Refugee Studies, Hastings College of the Law
Ms. Frydman directs the Center’s technical assistance program, advising attorneys across the country who are representing
women seeking asylum from domestic violence, female genital cutting, forced marriage, and other gender-based persecution.
She coordinates the Center’s national policy advocacy and plays an integral role in its appellate litigation.
Dr. James Livingston, Ph.D.
Clinical Services Manager, Center for Survivors of Torture, Asian Americans for Community Involvement
Dr. Livingston oversees all clinical services provided to political refugees tortured in their home countries, and to their families,
as well as providing direct services. He conducts research, and writes/presents professional papers, and provides training, on
such topics as trauma treatment, domestic violence in refugees and secondary traumitazation.
